Raise Your Hand If You Need Some Rest!

About This Episode Rest is a wonderful and amazing idea, and we are so glad God came up with it. The word rest in the Old Testament is Sabbath, so in this episode we talk about rest, the Sabbath, and why it matters in our lives. We trace rest from God resting on the seventh day, through a Hebrew word study on sabbath, to Israel coming out of 400 years of work. We explain how the Fourth Commandment is fulfilled in Christ, who invites the weary to come to Him, and why keeping a Sabbath is good but never makes us holy. Then we share the simple rhythms our family uses to rest each week.
