Q&A Having Children, Birth Control & how many kids to have and more
Show notes
About This Episode We polled our community on Instagram, and so many of your questions were about having children, so we put them all in one Q&A. We share our view on birth control, including Jennifer's two hard months on it early in our marriage, and why we lean toward natural planning. We get honest about why we waited to have kids, from painful physical intimacy to our own selfish pride, and how a friend's gentle challenge changed our question from 'how many do we want?' to 'how many does God want?' We also talk about preparing for a newborn without fear and the best ways to invest in your spouse before kids. These are our positions from Scripture and experience, so take them back to the table with your spouse and dig into the Word together.

In This Episode Our view on birth control — Jennifer's experience with chemical birth control and why we lean toward natural planning. Why we waited to have kids — painful physical intimacy, selfish pride and fear in our early years. How many kids to have — why we stopped asking 'how many do we want?' and started asking what God wants. An open hand — the challenge that exposed the one area we were keeping from God. Preparing for a newborn — prayer, Scripture and talking through your fears with your spouse. Finding support — asking questions of an experienced parent you admire. Investing in your spouse before kids — date nights, washing your wife with the Word, and practicing transparency. Purity is power — overcoming hidden sin and bad habits before you pass them on to your kids.
