The Parable of the Good Samaritan

Show notes

About This Episode In this episode, we discuss a powerful and edifying way to interpret the Parable of the Good Samaritan. Jennifer shares how God answered her question about drawing wisdom from Scripture: after reading Luke and the story of the rich young ruler on the drive to church, a man at our home church taught on the Good Samaritan from the same book. His teaching reframed the parable through the gospel. The Jewish hearers would never have seen themselves as the Samaritan. We are actually the man left half dead who cannot save himself, and Jesus is the Samaritan who pays a high price to rescue us. We close by talking about taking up our cross and why our charity should flow from what we have received.
