Can I Fall Out Of Love In My Marriage?

Show notes

About This Episode Is love something we can fall in and out of? Can I still be in love if I don't feel like it? What if I'm not happy in my marriage anymore? In this episode we tackle those questions head on. Drawing from Gary Thomas's book Sacred Marriage, we explain why the phrase 'falling out of love' is so deceptive: it takes choice and responsibility out of love and leaves us at the mercy of our feelings. We look at the most common reasons couples feel love has faded, and then point to Jesus in Gethsemane as the model of a love that chooses commitment. The opposite of biblical love isn't hate, it's apathy.
