Minimalism with Purpose: Owning Less to Live More with Joshua Becker

Show notes

About This Episode What if the stuff in your garage is quietly costing you the things you say matter most? Aaron sits down with Joshua Becker, founder of Becoming Minimalist and author of Uncluttered Faith, for an honest conversation about biblical minimalism and marriage. Joshua shares the Saturday morning that changed everything: a garage full of dusty possessions, a five-year-old swinging alone in the backyard, and a neighbor's offhand comment about her minimalist daughter. From there they dig into why the average American home holds 300,000 items, what John the Baptist told the crowds to do to get ready for Jesus, and why the parable of the four soils should make the American church uncomfortable. Aaron asks the questions many husbands feel: Is this just another burden? How do couples compromise when one wants to purge 80% and the other 50%? And how do we own less without becoming proud about it? The answer is not deprivation but freedom: owning less so you can live more for God, your spouse, and your kids.

About Joshua Becker Joshua Becker is the founder of Becoming Minimalist, one of the most-read websites on intentional living, and the author of Uncluttered Faith along with several bestselling books on owning less. His passion is to inspire people to own less so they can live more. Joshua and his wife have been married 26 years, have two adult children, and live in Peoria, Arizona.
