When Sex Is Hard to Talk About: Intimacy, Desire, & Communication in Marriage w/ J. Parker
Show notes
About This Episode Sex is one of the hardest topics for many couples to talk about. Aaron sits down with J. Parker, who began writing anonymously about sexual intimacy in Christian marriage after seeing how few safe, honest resources existed for couples with mismatched sex drives. They talk about why the church often stays silent on sex, leaving couples alone and chasing the world's counterfeit answers. J. explains responsive and spontaneous desire, why values should lead feelings, and how to approach mismatched desire, including the marriages where the wife wants sex more, as teammates. They also discuss the harm of pornography-shaped expectations and why both spouses ultimately want to be wanted.
