About This Episode In this episode, we explore an incredible but overlooked truth: words are spiritual things. Just as God spoke the world into existence, what we say carries spiritual power and implications. We look at 1 John 4 on testing the spirits and see that it calls us to assess the words and messages people speak to know whether they come from God, the way you recognize a counterfeit bill by knowing the real one. Jesus calls His own words 'spirit and life,' and James warns how the tongue can defile or give life. Aaron shares how lies like 'I'll never be free' and 'I'll never be strong enough' kept him in bondage until someone spoke truth, and Jennifer shares a study of the Hebrew word 'amar.' Understanding this means taking responsibility for what we speak and what we listen to.
