We finished Our Chicken Coop and here is what we learned about doing hard things

Show notes

About This Episode This episode is not a chicken coop how-to. It is the story of what Aaron and Jennifer learned about working together to finish a hard thing. After taking in 23 chickens, they built a 400-square-foot coop out of recycled pole-barn lumber, and the project stretched them. They share the wisdom they gained in hindsight: count the cost before committing, value your spouse's wise insight, avoid throwing a wrench in the project by starting something new halfway through, and lean on each other's encouragement when you feel like quitting. Every marriage will face hard things together, whether a DIY project, a job, a ministry opportunity, or raising kids, and they hope their story helps you persevere and remember that your children are watching how you finish.

About Aaron & Jennifer Smith Aaron and Jennifer Smith are the founders of Marriage After God and authors of Husband After God, Wife After God, and Marriage After God. Married since 2007 and raising six children in Bend, Oregon, they started Husband Revolution and Unveiled Wife to share what God was teaching them, not from a place of having it figured out, but as fellow travelers pointing couples back to Jesus.
